Punchestown Racecourse is a Premier racecourse in County Kildare it host national hunt and flat meeting. The track is a right handed oval that is 2 miles in circumference that has a run in of 3 ½ furlongs, the track has 8 hurdles and 11 fences.
The course holds around 17 race meetings per year from January through to December. The racecourse is best known for the Punchestown Festival which is a major 5 day meeting in the national hunt season that is generally held annually in April. The festival includes several of the biggest meetings in the racing calendar including the Champion Chase, Ryanair Novice Chase, Champion Hurdle and the Punchestown Gold Cup. Aside from this festival another standout race is the Punchestown Hurdle a grade 1 race that occurs in November.
In races of up to 7 furlongs there is a draw advantage for high numbers.
