The racecourse is marketed as Britain’s friendliest racecourse; this national hunt course is located in the picturesque Scottish borders in the market town of Kelso.
The left-handed course is well known for its tough uphill three furlong run-in, the run in is almost as long as that of the Aintree Grand National.
The course plays host to 14 horse racing meetings per year with stand-out events being the Morebattle Hurdle in February and the John Smith's Scottish Borders National Day which is held in December. Jockeys that do well here are Graham Lee and Denis O’Regan with trainers Nicky Richards and Howard Johnson being the top trainers.
One of the surprising features of the racecourse is that there is a full 18 hole golf course in the centre of the track.
