Fairyhouse Racecourse is one of Ireland’s premier horse racing venues. The track is right-handed around one mile, 6 1/2 furlongs, it has a run in of just under 3 furlongs that has a slight uphill finish. The national hunt course consists of 8 hurdles and 11 fences on the circuit.
The racecourse holds race meetings all year round and generally stages around 20 a season. The principal event here is the Irish Grand National which is part of the two day Easter Festival. Another key event is the Hatton's Grace Hurdle a grade 1 race that is held in December.
In races of up to one mile there is a draw stall advantage for horse in the high numbers.
The top two jockeys who have done well at Fariyhouse over the last few seasons are Mick Kinane and Pat Smullen. Trainers that have a good record here are John Oxx are Aidan O’Brien.
