Epsom Downs has been described as one of the most unusual flat racing courses in the world; it is a left handed horseshoe shaped track which has several ups and downs and it has been called a roller coaster of a course.
Each year Epsom plays host to 13 races days, the most famous of which is the Epsom Derby which is held annually in June. It is one of the most famous and well know races in the world, it is a Group One flat race and the richest horse race in Britain and one of the five Classics. Other notable races at the course are the Epsom Oaks and the Coronation Cup<
In races of 5 or 6 furlongs high numbers are best in the draw stall advantage, in races of 7 furlongs to 1 mile and 2 furlongs then low numbers have the advantage.
The top jockeys at this course include Ryan Moore and Frankie Dettori with the top trainers being Richard Hannon.
